Geography

This term in Class 2 we are finding out about different countries. We started by preparing a survey to find out our favourite holiday destinations, then we found out what different countries are mentioned in the news. Our focus is now on Europe and the children are working in pairs to research a particular country and present their findings. This will then be presented to the rest of the class.

In Science we are finding out about our bodies. This includes the joints, the skeleton and our internal organs. Do you know how many bones an adult skeleton has? How many ribs have we got? What are the 3 purposes of our skeleton?

 Come and see the skeletons that Class 2 have made using art straws, string and chalk. They’re brilliant!

We will be reading The Wreck of the Zanzibar by Michael Morpurgo in Literacy.  It is set in 1907 and it is part of our Historical fiction topic. The focus is on using powerful verbs and paragraphs in our stories. This will be followed by a Poetry topic where again the focus is on using powerful verbs and our senses.
