Welcome to the Paulerspury C E School website

This term’s Geography topic is ‘Waste in our environment.’ Children will look at the types of rubbish that we throw away and what happens to them once they leave our houses.  We will be visiting Northamptonshire Recycling Centre to see rubbish being processed and how it is recycled. The children will also be looking at the recycling facilities in school, think about how they can be improved and have the opportunity to improve the school’s facilities.

In Science we will be studying ‘gases all around us,’ where children will learn about some of the different types of gases and know why they are important to us. They will learn about evaporation and the differences between solids, liquids and gases. After half term this topic will be followed by ‘changing state.’ Children will consolidate their ideas about the changing state of solids, liquids and gases and know how some materials can exist as different states of matter.

Impressionism is being studied in art with a focus on Monet. Children will look at the techniques used by Impressionist artists and apply the same techniques when painting their own picture of ‘Haystacks.’ Did you know that a Claude Monet painting fetched a record £40.9m at auction in London in June this year.
